The insurance company said I need to go somewhere else for repairs. Can I still use Collision King?2020-08-26T21:37:32-06:00

You may use the shop of your choice regardless of your insurance company. We are an approved direct repair facility for many insurance companies, and we are happy to work with you regardless of which company you use.

What payment methods do you accept?2020-08-26T21:36:51-06:00

Can I buy parts from Collision King without installation?2020-06-08T14:27:27-06:00

No, our systems are not designed for over-the-counter parts sales. In most cases, the dealership or other parts houses are much better suited for your over-the-counter purchases.

How many estimates must I obtain for my insurance company?2020-08-26T21:38:50-06:00

There is no law requiring you to obtain more than one estimate. You have the right to go to the collision center of your choice. Be sure the repair center you choose offers a written repair warranty and will be around in case you need to use it. A written warranty from a fly-by-night storm chaser may not be usable in the future.

Does the collision center provide a rental or courtesy vehicle?2020-08-26T21:34:23-06:00

If you are the claimant, the other party’s insurance, by law, must provide you with a rental vehicle for the duration of repairs.  Some insurance companies provide rental reimbursement, rather than direct bill, so the claimant may have to pay out of pocket for the rental and then be reimbursed later. Collision King Repair Center also maintains a fleet of courtesy vehicles for those who are not covered under rental insurance. Some restrictions do apply. Visit our loaner car page to learn more.

What if additional damage is found during repairs, or my insurance company’s estimate is lower that the repair shop’s estimate?2020-05-12T14:53:04-06:00

Insurance companies and repair facilities both write estimates based on the damages they can see. If there are additional damages or part price increases, we will contact the claims supplement departments for approval. In many cases, the insurance companies require one of their field adjusters to inspect the additional damages and approve further charges/payments. Once the adjuster comes to an agreement with the repair center, additional damages payment will be issued directly to the repair facility. In most cases, the only amount of out-of-pocket expenses you will have for the repairs to your vehicle is your deductible.

How long will it take to repair my vehicle?2020-08-26T21:33:58-06:00

As every accident is unique, we have no way to know repair time required until we see the vehicle and identify the repairs needed. As soon as we provide a repair estimate, we should be able to provide repair time required.

What if my vehicle is totaled?2020-08-26T21:33:49-06:00

This determination is made by the insurance company based on information we provide regarding the damage. Each insurance company has a different threshold they use to determine whether to repair a vehicle or declare it a total loss. If the insurance company determines it is a total loss, they will contact you with instructions on how to proceed with them. If it is at our facility, you will be given access to your vehicle to retrieve any personal belongings prior to the insurance company removing it.

What if my vehicle was previously damaged?2020-06-08T14:10:07-06:00

We often see vehicles with UPD (unrelated prior damage). While UPD cannot be included in the repairs covered by insurance, we are happy to provide an estimate for the repair and complete it in conjunction with your covered repairs. You may pay for UPD repairs out of pocket at the same time as the covered repair.

When can I wash my car after new paint?2020-06-08T14:15:30-06:00

We recommend waiting two weeks before using a car wash. However, you may hand wash your vehicle as soon as you like.

Can the shop help me with my auto insurance claims in Lubbock?2020-05-12T14:57:25-06:00

We are an approved collision center with major insurance companies and many local dealerships. Should the insurance company mail you the payment check or you owe a deductible, those payments should be made at the time you collect your vehicle. We are happy to assist you with this process.

What is a deductible? When/who do I pay the deductible to?2020-08-26T21:40:03-06:00

Your deductible is the portion of a covered loss that you are responsible for paying before the insurance company becomes responsible for payment under the policy. For example, if the covered claim is $2,500 and your deductible applicable to that coverage is $500, you will pay the $500 and the responsible insurance company will pay the $2000. In most cases, you will pay the amount of your deductible directly to the repair center you have chosen upon completion of repairs to your vehicle.

What do I do if the insurance company sent the check to me?2020-06-08T14:05:25-06:00

Except in rare circumstances, the money sent to the customer by the insurance company is meant to pay for the repairs to the damaged vehicle. The payment will need to be given to the repair center upon completion of the repairs. If the customer deposits the check into their personal account, they will need to pay the repair center directly upon completion. If the check has been issued to the customer by the insurance company, but not received by the customer, the customer may contact the insurance company to reissue the check directly to the repair center in order to expedite release of the vehicle upon completion.

I need to pay out of pocket for damage I caused to someone else’s vehicle. How does this work?2020-06-08T14:18:06-06:00

While it remains the responsibility of the vehicle owner to pay for the repairs, we will accept payment directly from a third-party. We are unable to accept credit card payments over the phone from non-owners, but happy to take them in person. If we find hidden damage, it will need to be paid prior to releasing the vehicle.
